Amplify is an award-winning marketing agency based in London, established in 2008. They have seen massive growth in recent years, building a fantastic client base and expanding their ranks to over 60 people. Our relationship with Amplify goes back several years, having worked with them on a variety of projects both for clients and internally. In mid-2015, they approached us to develop a refreshed brand identity for them.

Our approach was one of evolution, opting to build upon their established brand rather than wiping the slate clean and starting again. We refined their existing logo and presented it in a new light, creating a framing device which allowed for it to be blended into imagery – a visual metaphor for them being a fully integrated agency. We were able to create a physical example within their office by layering the two parts of the logo around a bespoke light installation featured in their reception area.

The idea behind every element was to offer a fresh sense of confidence in the agency, while creating something ‘ownable’ that came across as unmistakably Amplify. We applied this thinking to every facet of the identity; presenting a new set of typefaces to help them stand out from the competition, offering creative direction on how to best utilise their photographic assets, and refining their colour palette – maximising Yves Klein blue, which had been used as an accent colour since Amplify first started. To add some new assets into the mix we also developed a set of patterns which illustrated their core value of ‘Joining the dots between people, brands and culture’. The patterns add a sense of tactility and texture, and introduce another flexible, ‘ownable’ brand asset.

The rebrand also included a comprehensive redesign of their website. We worked with Amplify’s in-house creative team, and external development agency Crew, to redesign and build a rich, visual and video-led site that showed off the wide range of clients, content and projects they have worked on.
